I hate my job.

A pair of shoes I wear regularly usually lasts a few years for me.

The new shoes I got for work several months ago are worn almost completely through at the sole in places already, and they had started out as really sturdy shoes.

This indicates that my job sucks, and no wonder my joints hurt all the time.

Grrr.

Signs of the Apocalypse.

I've found a sugar-free soda that doesn't taste WRONG. I was so startled that I panicked and ate half a pound of licorice to restore balance to the universe.

(It was a Jones Soda. Apparently they can do no wrong in my book even when they forgo the pure cane sugar.)

(...Well, I guess their turkey and gravy flavored sodas may have been a bit wrong, but that doesn't count, and if I ever managed to get one of them I would SO drink it anyway.)

Aw HELLS yes!

I've been trying and spectacularly failing at National Novel Writing Month since 2004. Each year, I have progressively less inspiration as to what to write, and over the past few years I haven't even tried to write fiction at all in the off-season, even though it used to be something I loved to do.

This year, I was convinced the writer in me was unquestionably dead. I haven't had a new idea since 2006, and only one or two in the years before that, none of which got past a few thousand words because they all went nowhere fast. There was NOTHING in me to write. Not even half a thought that could be fleshed out into a plot-like shape.

And then today I started putting words on a paper anyway and have a stronger plot forming than I ever did on any of the years when I started with some semblance of ideas and optimism.

I may still lack the discipline to win, but I think I'll get further this year than in the past fours years combined! I don't know what happened!
