Hyperventilation!

Neil Gaiman is in Portland right now! The Oregon one! SQUEE! What's sad is that I was up there just a few days ago and now I am not, although theoretically I could go back for a while and still be home in time to get some sleep before work tonight (but I will not do that because I have no hope of getting into any of the events he's there for... *sigh* ).

By the way, the book he just won the Newbery for, The Graveyard Book, is so awesome that I'm almost thinking of getting a second copy just so I'll have one with the shiny new medal on it too. The "children's book" label is misleading; it's really more just a kickass book that happens to be as acceptable for children as it is for everyone else.

Also, I hear that Stephen Colbert talked about him on his show last night. I think this means that Neil Gaiman may now be Famous, as opposed to just being well-known among the kinds of people who like to read the kinds of things he writes.

Its my vote you go and crash the events- and given the opportunity, volunteer to have his child. Because genes like those? Should be PASSED ON :)

I wish I could have!

I'd volunteer to have his child if he didn't already have several, some of whom are about my age.
